This is the major fundraiser for all NAACP units. The event began in 1953 to ‘intensify efforts to complete the job of emancipation’. The revenues generated by the Freedom Fund supports our health, education, and political action work.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Brooklyn McDaniels

Brooklyn McDaniels is a sports business professional hailing from Canton, Ohio. A Buckeye through and through, she attended The Ohio State University where she received an honors degree in Communication Analysis with a minor in Legal Foundations, pre-law. During undergrad, Brooklyn led several student organizations such as the Black Student Association, Undergraduate Student Government, and SPHINX Senior Honorary. She was recognized in the 6th Edition of Who’s Who in Black Columbus and named 1 of 20 Outstanding Seniors in a graduating class of more than 10,000 students.

 

Brooklyn was selected as the Business Strategy Intern for ESPN’s Affiliate Sales and Marketing division the summer prior to her senior year of college. Upon graduating cum laude from The Ohio State, Brooklyn kicked off her career in New York, NY as one of seven individuals selected for the National Football League’s (NFL) prestigious Junior Rotational Program. After rotating through Corporate Event Strategy, Business Development, and Partnerships, she accepted a permanent role in the NFL’s Sponsorship Management department. Brooklyn’s responsibilities included managing the day-to-day businesses of eight (8) of the League’s largest, and most critical corporate partners (e.g., Bud Light, Gatorade, Invisalign).

 

In 2022, Brooklyn pivoted into the technology industry accepting a role in TikTok’s Global Business Marketing division. She was then drafted to join the TikTok North America Sports team as a Partner Manager. She currently manages a roster of professional athletes and public figures across Football, Soccer, Baseball, Golf, NASCAR, and UFC. Named to Front Office Sports’ Rising 25 Class of 2021 and Hashtag Sports’ Creators of Color Class of 2023, Brooklyn is most commonly known for her gregarious personality and her ability to rally individuals with enthusiasm. A strong advocate for personal and professional mentorship, Brooklyn dedicates her time to sharing her experiences, knowledge, and learnings with future generations.
